Description
Hi guys! I recently started experimenting with Mental Corruption, as on paper it had the potential to be the best memory released yet. This memory is like a mid-range Amaterasu from Naruto, slowly burning the target to death. You can also cast it on the same target multiple times, literally melting boss HP bar.
After experimenting with it a bit, I found that the memory wasn't that strong since it has an awfully long cd (base 16 seconds). So this build heavily rely on Memory haste / cdr with Essence of Obsidian and Essence of Momentum as our top picks. I had some runs where I couldn't get my hands on those but it wasn't that bad once you level up Mental Corruption to +8/+10. You can also use Essence of Virtue to cast multiple times or Essence of Pain to clear rooms a little faster.
==== # Build explanation # ====
We'll pick Valiant Heart for this build since it deals decent damage and provide a lot of utility in early game, Bismuth can reset the cooldown of the memory and get shields pretty easily with this memory but feel free to take Pure Soul if you want exclusive Ability power scaling since Mental Corruption also scale with AP. We have a lot of options for the last memory slot Frostbite is great since it provides a shield, deal frost AP damage and can also proc Essence of Frost or any other frost related essence (mainly for shields). Umbral Edge is also a strong option if you find Essence of Umbra for healing on crits.
There are a lot of options for Mental Corruption, since it procs every half a second on ennemies you can use Essence of Charcoal with Essence of Sulfur or Essence of Fever to take advantage of dots. Essence of Accuracy and Essence of Umbra are also good choices for damage or heal and synergize really well with Essence of the Starry Sky to maintain high attack speed.
==== # Constellation # ====
Destruction
Self-Writing Story once you manage to get it for comfort auto-casting and memory haste.
Corrupted Mind to increase dark damage, Elementalist is also a good option.
Remaining stars are not mandatory but focused on attack speed to reset Obsidian / Momentum.
Life
Asclepius and Combat First Aid are good options for sustain
I chose to focus on movement with Light Footsteps and Threat Detection
We are using Shift in Thinking to reset Valiant Heart cooldown.
imagination
It's a rare case since we are starting with a memory Déjà vu, so Beginner's Luck isn't mandatory.
Our main objective is to get as much Memory haste as possible so Black Market to reroll the shop, we can pick Primordial Chaos to get memory haste after defeating bosses, Bizarre Spoils for essences and Book of Knowledge for stats too.
Flexible
Mostly used for early game shielding and damage, Quick Decision is great with Steadfast Heart and No Longer Afraid. Having Shift in Thinking to reset the cooldown and trigger the effects more frequently.
